Young And Married… or Zumthinlikedat

This blog is a long time coming.

I am that person who constantly gives advice and tries to have an answer for life’s most mundane problems. You have a stubborn stain.  I have a trick. You need new dinner ideas? Well I have a recipe! You are trying to navigate the precarious space between child hood and infinity while coming to terms autonomy, identity, and expectations? You are in good company! So am I. And I have some thoughts.

The name of this blog – I got married at twenty-two.

At twenty-two, I was young and then all of a sudden I was married. People kept telling me that I married young, that I was “young” to be married, and that I was very young for marriage. All I could think at the time was, “I get it! I am young. I am married. I am young and married…or something like that.” I wanted the domain to be YAMS.blog, but “yams” was taken, zo here we are.

Now, I love being young. And I love being married. There is also so much more that makes me who I am and there are so many experiences, including my marriage, that shape my identity and perspectives. I like to think that these perspectives are beneficial to many people despite their age or relationship status (or so my friends tell me). Quite frankly, I also wished there was a blog that I could have read when I was twenty-two or even yesterday when I needed some community or inspiration. There is so much of life to conquer that is still a mystery.
